Speakers include: Alicia Sanchez Gill (Emergent Fund), Melanie Willingham-Jaggers (GLSEN), Elisa Crespo (Stonewall Community Foundation), Joy Chia (Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice), Jonathan Jayes Green (Board Chair of Funders for LGBTQ Issues), and Sammy Luffy (Director of Research at Funders for LGBTQ Issues)

In a time of heightened political attacks against our communities, we have developed a growing (and non-exhaustive) list of resources, research, and best practices to navigate the current moment with urgency and rigor.
These resources are aimed primarily at funders resourcing intersectional LGBTQ justice, with a majority of resources aimed at supporting resource mobilization for TGNC communities. The Resource Library will be updated as more information becomes available. |

As a proud campaign partner, we invite you to celebrate the close of the Fund Our Futures Campaign—the first-ever global pledging campaign for LGBTI movements.
Amid anti-rights backlash and dramatic shifts in the philanthropic and development assistance landscapes, the Fund Our Futures campaign launched in November 2024 with the goal to raise $150 million in new pledged funding for LGBTI movements by June 2025.
Join the Global Philanthropy Project (GPP) in marking the campaign's close alongside the 40 (and counting!) grantmakers committed to meeting this moment with new funding commitments to global LGBTI rights. |

In her recently published op-ed for Inside Philanthropy, Funders’ President, Saida Agostini-Bostic, calls on funders to examine why they’re backing away when they should be resourcing LGBTQ movements to win.
"Grantmaking inspired by guilt is meaningless and ultimately dangerous,” she writes, instead asking: what does it mean act from a place of grief and love? |
Funders for LGBTQ Issues’ Deputy Director, Alexander Lee, had the honor of joining the incredible Imara Jones on the latest episode of the TransLash Podcast.
As attacks on our community intensify, trans-led organizations are being stretched thinner than ever with increasing needs and dwindling resources. In this episode, TransLash explores how the philanthropic system is failing many trans groups, and why community-led funding models could be the key to moving resources faster and more equitably. It’s a powerful and timely conversation — you won’t want to miss! |

Director of Programs, Cleopatra Jach Acquaye, and Board Member Ana Conner attended the 2025 Vision Awards hosted by Stonewall Foundation in New York City. As Jach described the event, “I thought the Vision Awards was a gem of an event. From the honorees to the performances to the deep sense of community, Stonewall is not only invested in creating a beautiful gala, but they wanted an opportunity to showcase and gift connection during these hard times. I’m looking forward to attending again next year!”

Out in the South (OTS) Project Director, Shaena Johnson, and former Board Member Hez Norton joined local leaders, Nikki Alexander-Tumblin and Morris Singletary, at the Grantmakers In Health Annual Convening in New Orleans on June 18th. Together they discussed the structural health inequities facing BIPOC transgender and gender-expansive communities in New Orleans.
Shaena and Hez emphasized the need for flexible, trust-based funding and deeper partnerships between funders and grassroots organizers. Participants left the session with a renewed sense of urgency and practical tools for aligning philanthropic efforts with the lived realities of BIPOC LGBTQ communities in the South and beyond. |
