Horizons Foundation announced earlier this month that four Transgender People of Color (Trans POC) organizations based in the San Francisco Bay Area will receive funding totaling $1 million over three years via our new Trans POC Initiative. Through this bold initiative, Horizons is committing to investing in and partnering with Trans POC-primary organizations by providing funding towards transformative, multi-year infrastructure improvement and capacity building grants.

Update to GCIR’s January 2025 Funder Recommendations
Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees (GCIR) released an updated set of recommendations to capture the philanthropic and movement efforts in support of immigrant and refugee communities that have sprung up across the country following their original recommendations in January. This report includes over two dozen funds and emerging networks and offers additional resources to support funder education and mobilization at this critical time.
Tzedek's Emerging Issues Grants Applications are Now Open
Tzedek Social Justice Fund is expanding its funding opportunities to support more projects. These grants are intended for a specific, short-term need or project and are generally not for ongoing operational support, and must align with Tzedek’s mission and vision. Funding must benefit the community within a 30-mile radius of downtown Asheville. Grants will be distributed throughout the year, dispersing roughly 25% of the available funds each quarter.
Call for Applications: LILAS Fund
Hispanics in Philanthropy just opened their applications for the LILAS Fund (Leaders for Childhoods Free from Sexual Violence). This initiative supports Latin American organizations dedicated to preventing sexual violence against children and adolescents, as well as those accompanying survivors in their pursuit of justice and reparation. Selected organizations will receive $40,000 in flexible funding over 24 months, along with capacity-building opportunities in areas such as collective leadership, security, strategic communication, and collective well-being.
