It’s that time of year again: Funders for LGBTQ Issues’ data collection process for LGBTQ grant data from 2023 is now open for submissions!

Our Resource Tracking Report is a one-of-a-kind, flagship publication that helps track how much foundation funding is going to LGBTQ communities and issues across the country.  During this time of crisis for many LGBTQ people and their families across the country, direct participation in this project helps produce the most comprehensive survey of U.S. foundation support for LGBTQ communities and issues possible.

Northern California Grantmakers: Advancing Democracy and Civil Liberties Amidst National Backlash

Project 2025: A Framework for the Erosion of LGBTQ+ Civil Rights

 

Horizons Foundation is hosting a free, live, virtual public discussion on Wednesday, September 25 from 5:00 – 6:00pm PT with the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism (GPAHE)’s Wendy Via and Heidi Beirich to explore what Project 2025’s blueprint for using the power of the federal government to impose a Christian Nationalist agenda means for the LGBTQ+ community.

Queer & Trans People in Emergent Space (QTPIES) is a peer support and network building space for queer and trans folks working in philanthropy, as well as a place to have emergent conversations on sector-wide news. The space is open to philanthropic professionals at both Funders for LGBTQ Issues member and nonmember institutions.

Bridging the Gap: Grantee Perspectives on Intermediary Funders
New research from the Center for Effective Philanthropy (CEP) finds that grantee experiences with intermediary funders do not differ greatly from those with “originating” funders. CEP’s new report also provides insight into the grantmaking characteristics of intermediary funders and offers two case studies of intermediaries that are highly rated by their grantees.

Read this report by United to Protect Democracy that lays out how an authoritarian president will dismantle our democracy and what we can do to protect it. The report concludes with ten recommendations to prepare to protect American democracy against unconstitutional and authoritarian actions.

HIV in the United States is still a crisis, particularly for Black and Latinx communities, LGBTQ populations, and those in the U.S. South. In recognition of the United States Conference on HIV/AIDS Funders Concerned About AIDS’ released its latest annual resource tracking report, Philanthropy’s Response to HIV and AIDS: 2022 Grantmaking.
